Mike Stanfield
When you’re faced with a legal challenge, you need an experienced trial attorney to help guide you through the process. Mike Stanfield has spent more than 17 years of experience in courtrooms all across Missouri.
For an advocate to be at their best, they must have a solid base of knowledge to build off of. Mike started his path by obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, cum laude, from the University of Central Missouri (then Central Missouri State University). To further increase his knowledge base he stayed at Central Missouri and obtained a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration. At the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law he was awarded the Latshaw Award for “excellent studies in Criminal Law.”
During his educational journey, Mike took every opportunity to gain practical experience. He completed a summer internship at the Saint Peters, MO Police Department. During law school he clerked for Lance Sandage, a top criminal defense attorney in Kansas City learning local, state and federal criminal defense. His third year of law school he interned at the Missouri State Public Defender’s Office in the Kansas City Trial Office.
The best advocate is one who is not only highly trained, but time tested. This led to a 16 year career as a criminal defense attorney at the Public Defender before opening his own firm. Mike Stanfield is one of the only lawyers in Southwest Missouri who has graduated from the National Criminal Defense College’s rigorous two-week Trial Practice Institute. He has appeared, and tried cases, in numerous counties from Marshfield to St. Joseph; with an excellent track record of success.

No case is too small or too big. Mike has appeared on speeding tickets, argued to juries on murders and was lead counsel defending Gypsy Rose Blanchard.
Let Mike bring all of this to bear for you.
